Our Work

What are some of the activities of the church at Coraopolis? As with other churches of Christ, we practice evangelism, edification, and benevolence. The following are examples of our work.

REGULAR SERVICES

Sunday Bible Study:

The church meets every Sunday morning to study the Bible. There are classes for both children and adults. In the auditorium, lessons are primarily topical, with subjects for future lessons suggested by the students. Classes begin at 10:00 a.m. and are dismissed at 10:45 a.m.

Sunday Worship:

The church meets every Sunday morning for worship at 11:00 a.m. After singing and praying, the minister presents the sermon, followed by the Lord's Supper. After the collection, the service is concluded with a closing song and prayer.

Wednesday Bible Study:

There is Bible study each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. There are songs and prayer before and after class in the auditorium.

SPECIAL SERVICES

Ladies' Day:

Ladies meet annually at the church building at Coraopolis to edify one another and to worship God. There is a fellowship lunch following the service. This is an enlightening experience for women of all ages.

Door-Knocking:

In the spring and the fall, members go into the community to share the gospel and invite their neighbors to Bible study and worship. We begin at the meetinghouse to pray, collect handouts, and to assemble into groups. After returning from visiting door to door, groups return for a fellowship lunch.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

New Movers:

The New Movers program is a ministry of welcome. Each month, new residents are welcomed by letter to the community and personally invited to Bible class and worship.

Bulletins:

Each Sunday, church bulletins are printed for visitors and members. The bulletins include church news and prayer requests, along with a biblical article. You may also read these articles online.

Website:

One form of evangelism used by the church is a church website. The website serves as a source of information for both visitors and members.

Tracts:

In our foyer, there is an assortment of religious tracts for those who wish to read more about spiritual issues. These include tracts by Apologetics Press, Delton Haun, and House to House - Heart to Heart.

Bible Correspondence Course:

The course by John M. Hurt, consisting of eight lessons, is available free to you upon request. After completing the lesson, simply mail the question sheet back to us for grading.

Church Email List:

Members with email may receive news from Coraopolis via email. This provides fast updates for members other than scheduled announcements on Wednesdays and Sundays. Would you like to be added to the list? Simply email your request.
